Cher and her partner, music executive Alexander "AE" Edwards, attended Valentino's beauty event afterparty at the storied Studio 54 in New York City on Wednesday, where the 79-year-old singer danced and posed for photographs before sharing images from the night on Instagram.
Speaking with Vogue after she hit the dance floor around midnight, Cher said, "As I was walking in, it was as if I had never left. It felt f—ing fabulous." Photographers captured the pair arriving and moving through the event together surrounded by other guests and paparrazi.
Cher wore dark trousers and a textured black coat with cream-colored fringe, and she styled her long dark hair in center-parted waves. Edwards, 39, wore a black blazer and trousers trimmed with white polka-dot detail, paired with a white shirt, black tie and visible jewelry, including a diamond-encrusted watch and earrings.
On Thursday the singer, who was born Cherilyn Sarkisian, posted two photographs of the couple to her Instagram account of roughly 3.5 million followers, captioning one set of images, "L I V @valentino.beauty @ae4president #54," and writing "Back Again" alongside another post showing them amid photographers.
The couple have been together since November 2022 and have regularly appeared at fashion and industry events. In December of that year, Cher addressed their age difference on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, "Well, on paper it's kind of ridiculous, but in real life we get along great. He's fabulous and I don't give men qualities that they don't deserve."
Edwards is a father of one; reports say he shares a son, Slash, with his former partner Amber Rose. The two have been photographed together in public several times in recent months, including earlier this week when they were seen walking in New York. Cher was described as wearing dark blue wide-leg jeans, a semi-sheer lacy black top and shiny black boots, while Edwards wore a white shirt and dark gray jeans.
The pair have also traveled to fashion events together. In July they attended Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda Roma event in Italy alongside industry figures including makeup artist Pat McGrath and British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.
Cher's appearance at Studio 54 comes amid continued public and social-media activity as she balances performing, appearances and personal engagements. Representatives for Cher and Edwards did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The Valentino afterparty, held at the Manhattan venue famous for its 1970s and 1980s nightlife history, attracted industry guests and media attention. Cher's presence and her comments to Vogue drew particular notice given her long career in music and fashion and the venue's association with nightlife and celebrity culture.
