Charlotte Crosby Defends Parenting After 'Time-Out Cage' Photo Sparks Outrage

Charlotte Crosby, known for her role in Geordie Shore, faced online backlash and was compelled to defend her parenting choices after sharing a photograph that some interpreted as a 'time-out cage' for her young children. The image, which featured Crosby's daughters Alba-Jean, three, and Pixi, 19 months, led to outrage among some of her social media followers.

Initially, Crosby captioned the post with a statement that appeared to suggest the item was for discipline. However, she quickly clarified that the 'cage' was, in fact, a storage unit for her daughter's teddy bear collection. She explained via social media that the item was not a child containment device and that she does not use time-outs with her children.

"Guys my DMs. That is obv not a child cage and we obvs don’t even do time outs!" Crosby stated. "It is however a cage lmao but for teddies! How b****y cute. I was totally influenced and I can’t even remember now by who! But it’s so cute and me and the girls built it all ourselves it was so easy I’ll link."

She recounted on the ITV show This Morning the devastating moment she and her fiancé Jake Ankers were told she had suffered a silent miscarriage at her eight-week scan. Crosby had discovered she was pregnant with what would have been her third child in March, initially experiencing excitement after two previous healthy pregnancies. However, medical assessments at six weeks revealed concerns, and the loss was confirmed two weeks later.

Recounting the experience, she described the atmosphere during the six-week scan as different, noting a "moment of silence" from the medical staff. Despite reassurances that she might have come too early for the scan, Crosby felt an intuition that something was wrong. The subsequent two weeks were described as feeling like they were in "slow motion." The doctor later confirmed it was not an active pregnancy and that she had "silently miscarried," meaning there were no physical symptoms of pregnancy loss such as heavy bleeding or cramping.

Crosby also shared that the miscarriage has reinforced her and Ankers' desire to have another child. The couple plans to try for a baby over the summer, with a wedding in Marrakesh planned for the following year.
