A bride's controversial demand that her bridesmaid gain weight to ensure the bride appears slimmer on her wedding day has ignited widespread online backlash.

A woman, identified as Jackie on TikTok, shared her experience after being asked to be a bridesmaid by her friend Nikki for a wedding scheduled for December of next year.

Initially excited, Jackie's enthusiasm waned when Nikki revealed her expectations, stating, "I can't have you out shining me on my big day, I wanna be the skinniest bitch there," according to Jackie's retelling.

Jackie expressed shock at the request, noting that she had been actively trying to lose weight. When she suggested that Nikki might consider slimming down herself, a move Jackie described as "reasonable," the bride-to-be allegedly became tearful and accused Jackie of attempting to "sabotage her wedding."

Nikki also reportedly instructed Jackie to undergo twice-weekly facials to address her "acne," claiming it would be an "eyesore" in wedding photos and would incur additional costs for airbrushing. "You're going to be in a lot of pictures at the wedding ... your acne is an eyesore and I'm not paying more just to get your face airbrushed," Jackie recalled Nikki saying.

Jackie confronted Nikki, calling her demands "unreasonable," which reportedly escalated the argument. Nikki then allegedly accused Jackie of being "jealous" of her upcoming marriage, leading Jackie to leave.

"There is nothing scarier in this world than a woman who is about to get married," Jackie concluded in her TikTok video, which has garnered over 107,000 views.

Online reactions largely sided with Jackie, with many commenters urging her to end the friendship. "Girl you have got to cut Nikki off," one user wrote, while another stated, "I cut my family members for less and you're still calling her your friend? Girl, stand up."

Nikki's alleged behavior has been widely condemned as that of a "bridezilla."
