Charli XCX donned a satin bra for an energetic performance at The Basement East in Nashville on Wednesday as part of Spotify Presents: Music, Fashion, Film – Live in Nashville.
The 33-year-old singer delivered a lively set, showcasing her performance in the eye-catching ensemble.
Album B-Sides Release
In addition to her performance, Charli XCX announced the release of a three-song B-sides edition of her album, "Music, Fashion, Film," available on iTunes. She had previously stated these tracks – "I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night," "Playboy Bunny," and "If You Take the Music Then What Has She Got?" – would not be available on streaming platforms.
Charli took to Instagram to announce the deluxe digital version, humorously referring to herself as a "hypocrite." She explained that the B-sides, "Rock Music," "SS26," and "Camera," were initially created for limited edition seven-inch singles and a physical box set. She felt it was natural to pair them with the album as adjacent but not integral parts.
"Traditionally, b sides often become fan favourites… and i guess in the case of some of the b sides for this album, that has proven to be true," she wrote on Instagram. "I felt adamant I wouldn't put them on streaming because it sort of felt counter intuitive to the whole ethos of those songs, but I know you all really wanted them so i've begrudgingly put them on iTunes lol."
Fans reacted positively to the release, calling her a "genius" and the "goat."
National Portrait Gallery Acquisition
Separately, a photograph of Charli XCX by Harley Weir has been acquired by the National Portrait Gallery. The artwork was obtained as part of the Collecting the Now fund and will be displayed in the History Makers space. The photograph features the singer leaning against a wall, wearing a white cropped T-shirt and black jeans, flashing her midriff.
