Channing Tatum attended Tuesday’s Los Angeles premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle with his 12-year-old daughter, Everly, in a rare joint red carpet appearance.

The actor, 45, suited up in navy for the event at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre while Everly wore a ruffled blue gown with matching heels, loose waves and hoop earrings. Tatum told People that he had scored “cool dad points” by voicing the character Keizo in the animated feature, which opens Friday.

The pair posed for photographs together and repeated a joint appearance they made at last year’s premiere, when Everly wore Shinobu Kocho–inspired attire. Tatum has occasionally brought his daughter to public events since he and ex-wife Jenna Dewan split in 2018.

Tatum has spoken publicly about the end of his marriage. In an interview with Variety earlier this month he described the separation as a “painful demise,” saying, “We tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half, but we knew it was…,” before trailing off. “Not to go into all that. It’s in the past.” He added that the split has made co-parenting challenging, saying, “But it’s really tough not to have your daughter half the time. I wish I could just have her all the time.”

In 2023, Tatum told Vanity Fair that the divorce was “exactly what [he] needed” as a father, saying he focused on Everly and became “best friends” with her after doing the work on himself. He and Dewan share custody of their daughter.

Dewan, 44, is engaged to actor Steve Kazee; they have two children together, son Callum, 5, and daughter Rhiannon, 1. Tatum has been linked publicly to several partners since the split, including on-and-off relationship with singer Jessie J, a 2021 engagement to Zoë Kravitz that was called off in 2024, and more recently dating Inka Williams.

Tatum’s participation in the Demon Slayer project adds to a growing list of Hollywood actors lending voices to high-profile animated and dubbed releases aimed at global audiences. The film is part of the Demon Slayer franchise, which has found a major international audience in recent years for its theatrical releases and streaming runs.

The premiere appearance offered a public moment highlighting Tatum’s role as a father and his ongoing work in film and voice acting. The film’s release on Friday is expected to draw attention from both anime fans and general audiences interested in voice-cast announcements and star appearances.

All parties involved have largely framed recent personal changes as part of moving forward, and Tatum and Dewan continue to be publicly engaged in parenting while pursuing separate personal and professional lives.
