Singer Chaka Khan, 73, announced she is "partnered out" and not seeking a new romantic relationship following two past marriages. In a recent interview with The Observer, Khan discussed her current approach to relationships, explaining her reluctance to discuss future desires in that area.

"I don't want to discuss that," Khan stated. "Because if I talk too much about what I would like to have, somebody will try to arrange it for me. So I'm just going to mosey along and let life do what it do."

Khan, known as the "Queen of Funk," has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Hassan Khan in 1970 when she was 17; they divorced a year later. She later married Richard Holland in 1976, and they divorced in 1980. Khan has a son, Damien, with Holland, and a daughter, Indira, with Rahsaan Morris.

Reflecting on her past marriages in a 2017 interview with The Guardian, Khan mentioned questioning whether her partners loved "Chaka Khan or the real me — Yvette Stevens." She added that it would take "a man of biblical proportions" for her to marry again, and that she doesn't "have time for a man unless he can bring something big to the table, like a huge amount of money."

In 2014, Khan told the Daily Mail that being in a relationship is her biggest fear because it renders one "so helpless" and that "being in a couple is a lot of work." She also noted that "no man in his right mind would want to be married to someone like" her.

Khan is preparing to release her upcoming album, "Chakzilla," in September.
