Celine Dion has arrived in Paris to prepare for her upcoming residency, her first series of concerts since revealing her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome. Fans and journalists greeted the Grammy-winning artist outside a Paris hotel as she settled in to rehearse for 16 shows scheduled at the Plenitude Arena.

The first performance is set for September 12, with subsequent shows running through October. Dion expressed a mix of readiness and slight nervousness, noting the extended time away from performing. "I am ready and I’m a bit uptight of course because it’s been a long time," she told BFMTV.

Dion, a native of Quebec, considers Paris her second home and has felt consistently supported by her fans. "It’s true that this is my second home," she stated.

When asked about the opening song for her concert, Dion kept it a secret, saying, "I can't say, it's a big secret!"

A Milestone Return

The Paris concerts, part of the "Celine Dion Paris 2026-2027" series, are a major milestone for the 58-year-old singer. They represent a significant return to touring following years of stepping back from the spotlight due to the rare neurological disorder she disclosed in 2022. Additional shows are planned for next May.

Dion's career spans decades, with nearly 260 million albums sold globally. She is known for numerous hit songs, including "My Heart Will Go On" and "Because You Loved Me." The Paris residency will feature her well-known catalog performed in both English and French.

Recent Public Appearances

Dion had largely withdrawn from public performances after canceling her Courage World Tour as her condition progressed. A notable recent appearance was at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics in 2024, where she performed "Hymne à l’amour" from the Eiffel Tower.

The Plenitude Arena, which has a capacity of 40,000 spectators, was also one of the venues utilized during the Paris Games.
