Celine Dion emerged from her Paris hotel on Tuesday, radiating excitement as she sang and danced for fans gathered outside. The appearance marks a significant moment as the 58-year-old prepares for her highly anticipated return to the stage after a three-year absence due to her battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological disorder.

Dion's residency in the French capital will feature 10 nights, a return to the spotlight that has been extended to 16 additional performances from September 2026 through May 2027 due to overwhelming demand. The singer has been diligently preparing for her comeback, which she announced on her birthday as "the best gift of my life."

Her preparations include a rigorous workout schedule involving 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week and twice-weekly ballet classes. Dion has spoken about overcoming insecurities since her diagnosis, describing SPS as a "progressive condition" that affects daily life, including walking and vocal abilities. She was diagnosed in 2022 after experiencing a flare-up in 2020.

In her 2024 documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion," the singer candidly detailed the challenges of SPS. After years of symptoms, the diagnosis led her to cancel her world tour dates and withdraw from the public eye for three years. During this period, she focused on her recovery and developed a deeper appreciation for nature, which she used as a metaphor for her struggles.

She made a glamorous appearance outside the Royal Monceau Hotel, wearing a chic black shift dress with a ruffled hem and train.

Dion's last public performance was at an Elie Saab fashion event in Riyadh in 2024. More recently, she has been seen attending concerts by Paul McCartney and Coldplay. She has expressed her gratitude to her fans, acknowledging their prayers and support, and stated her determination to return to the stage.

"I'm doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I'm singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing," she said in a video announcement. "I can't wait to see you again."

Her hair was tied back in an elegant chignon and she opted for subtle make-up, adding to her statuesque frame with black stilettos.

She emphasized her commitment to performing, stating, "I'm going to come onstage because I'm ready. And my vocal cords will not scare me because I'm going to be ready, and I’m going to hit those notes."
