Cate Blanchett made a rare public appearance with her son Ignatius Upton, 18, at the Giorgio Armani show during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week on Tuesday.

The Australian actress, 57, was seen smiling alongside her son on the red carpet. Blanchett wore a black cut-out blazer over a white blouse and wide-legged trousers. Ignatius Upton, attending his first public event in nearly a decade, wore an all-black ensemble accented with a chain necklace.

Blanchett and her husband Andrew Upton are also parents to sons Dashiel, 24, and Roman, 22, and adopted daughter Edith, 11. Ignatius previously accompanied Blanchett to the 2018 Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia and the London premiere of "Ocean's 8."

Earlier this year, Blanchett recounted on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that the inspiration for Ignatius' name came from the children's book character Professor Pee-Pee Poopypants from "Captain Underpants." She described an eight-month pregnant hallucination where the character's name influenced her choice.

In a separate incident, Blanchett reacted to persistent paparazzi at the Olivier Awards by offering a reporter the middle finger after he repeatedly requested a photo. While initially attempting to maintain composure, she eventually made the gesture as the photographer continued to yell. The moment was met with laughter from onlookers and approval from fans online.
