Cat Deeley was pictured wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger as she walked the red carpet at the National Television Awards on Wednesday, weeks after announcing her separation from husband Patrick Kielty.

Photographs from the O2 Arena in London show Deeley, 48, smiling as she posed with co-hosts from This Morning, with a ring visible on the left hand where a wedding band is traditionally worn. Earlier this year Deeley had been snapped without the ring and appeared to have moved a band to her right hand.

Deeley attended the awards ceremony in an emerald green, one-shoulder floor-length gown. Her This Morning co-host Ben Shephard coordinated in a dark green velvet dinner jacket. This Morning is nominated for Best Daytime Programme at this year’s awards, which are being staged to mark the NTAs’ 30th anniversary.

Deeley and Kielty, 54, announced their separation in July in a joint statement that said: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment." The couple have two sons.

Kielty was photographed last month near the couple’s former London home and was seen buying a bottle of red wine, in what was reported as his first public sighting since the split was confirmed. He subsequently returned to his BBC Radio 5 Live show and, in apparent light-hearted remarks on air, joked about being overlooked for a role on Match of the Day following presenter changes at the BBC.

Tabloid reports have also said Kielty’s family were upset after Deeley did not attend his mother’s funeral in March, and that relatives viewed her absence as confirming the marriage was over. Those accounts were reported by the Daily Mail.

The National Television Awards, open to public voting and first held in 1995, celebrate widely watched British television. This year’s ceremony, broadcast live on ITV, features established favourites and newer dramas alike. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are among the frontrunners for TV Presenter, while high-profile dramas and reality shows compete across multiple categories.

Organisers expect a night of performances and prize-giving that will continue into the evening, with winners chosen by members of the public who voted in advance for their favourite shows and personalities.
