Casey Donovan, the Australian Idol winner, stepped out for a date night with fiancée Renee Sharples in Melbourne, attending MJ The Musical on the town’s stage. The 37-year-old used the event to spotlight her weight-loss progress, wearing a bright orange sequined blouse under a black satin blazer, with matching trousers and black heels. Her makeup featured a warm, glowing palette with coral lipstick, and her hair was styled in natural curls. Sharples, a paramedicine lecturer, wore a green shirt with a bug print beneath a black blazer paired with skinny jeans as the couple posed on the red carpet.

Donovan has previously spoken about wedding plans with Sharples, whom she became engaged to in June last year. During an appearance on The Project, she described the planning as ongoing and uncertain about scale. "If I wasn't already attracted to your hands with your incredible nails, there's also a very big rock on your finger," co-panellist Susie Youssef joked, prompting Donovan to reveal that the engagement happened last year during a trip to Tasmania. "This time last year, when I had my last two weeks off, I went to Tasmania and got engaged," she said, adding that the couple are still weighing whether to host a big ceremony or something smaller. The duo have faced public speculation since rumours of their engagement circulated in 2021 after they connected on Bumble and began dating during the pandemic. Donovan later shared a social post recounting the moment and writing that "21.06.24 on the strawberry moon of the winter solstice the love of my life asked me if I wanted to do this life together forever" and that "home was no longer a place, it became a person."

Donovan has been open about a health-focused journey in recent months. She said she joined weight-loss program Juniper to help reach her fitness goals, noting that she had already been on a medication-based regimen and was seeking additional guidance. "I've kind of been on, I guess, my own little journey through health and fitness in the last few months when they approached me," she told Daily Mail Australia in April. "It came at the perfect time, because I was trying to just bumble through life with all the other things that I knew that I picked up from other weight loss programs."

Aside from her music career, Donovan rose to fame after winning Australian Idol in 2004. She and Sharples, who works as a paramedicine lecturer, went public with their relationship in 2021 after meeting online. They have used public appearances to share milestones, including engagements and relationship updates, while fans follow their progress toward a wedding later this year or next.
