Carol Vorderman, the 65-year-old television personality, was recently taken to the hospital by ambulance after a fall left her unconscious. The incident occurred when Vorderman tripped over an unseen tree root while walking outside her home.
In a video shared on Instagram, Vorderman described the event, stating she "went smash onto the tarmac path" and lost consciousness. She recalled that an ambulance arrived and transported her to the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Vorderman noted humorously that the song "The Final Countdown" was playing in the ambulance during her transport.
Vorderman was discharged the following day but experienced severe vomiting, prompting her readmission to the hospital. After undergoing CT scans in the A&E department, she was released again. The fall resulted in significant bruising to her face, which lasted for several weeks. Approximately two to three weeks after the initial incident, she began experiencing dizziness, describing a sensation of walking on a moving ship.
She attributed her recovery from the dizziness to the "Epley technique," a treatment for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Vorderman explained that the condition involves dislodged crystals in the inner ear and thanked a physiotherapist named Sophie for administering the technique. After three sessions, Vorderman reported being discharged from the service and feeling much improved.
This health update comes as Vorderman also discussed her future plans for cosmetic surgery, including a facelift within the next few years. She has previously defended her use of Botox and stated her intention to spend her money on procedures she desires, emphasizing her acceptance of herself while also wanting to look good.
