Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed that her newborn son, Ilya, shares his name with a character from the Crave hockey romance series "Heated Rivalry." Jepsen, 40, shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Tuesday that she is a fan of the show and that the name choice was "maybe not maybe because of that show."

Jepsen and her husband, music producer Cole M.G.N. (full name Cole Marsden Greif-Neill), welcomed baby Ilya in March. The couple, who have been together since 2022, married in October 2025 in a small ceremony at the Chelsea Hotel.

The singer also expressed interest in contributing music to the series' second season. "Heated Rivalry" director Jacob Tierney had previously mentioned on the "What Chaos!" podcast his desire to ask Jepsen to write an original song for the show.

"Heated Rivalry" debuted in November 2025 and quickly became a success. The series, based on books by Rachel Reid, follows the romance between two professional hockey players. The show stars Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov and Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander.

In March, Williams and co-star Francois Arnaud, who plays Scott Hunter, addressed toxic fan behavior online, posting a message that stated, "Don’t call yourself a fan if you share racist/homophobic/biphobic/misogynistic/ageist/ableist/parasocial/bigoted comments of any kind. None of us need your hateful ‘love.'"

The second season of "Heated Rivalry" is scheduled for release in April 2027, with filming currently underway in Toronto. The show's growing popularity has led to increased public attention for its stars, with social columnist Shinan Govani noting the significant "pandemonium and neck-turning" surrounding the production.
