Country music star Carly Pearce has stated that she does not want to have children, a decision she feels should be normalized. Pearce, 36, shared her perspective in response to a fan's question on TikTok.

"Maybe some of you out here are like me. I always feel bad saying that I actually don't want children. I love children, I love my friends' children, I'm a great aunt. But, it was never my dream," Pearce said. She explained that her lifelong ambition was to pursue a career in country music and tour extensively. "I think we should normalize people that truly know they don't wanna have kids. I don't think it should be for everyone just because society tells us to," she added.

Pearce also addressed the possibility of remarrying. Her previous marriage to singer Michael Ray lasted one year before their divorce in 2020. "So what I was divorced. It was my start-up marriage and now I get to have the real one," Pearce stated, indicating her openness to future marriage.

Pearce and Ray began dating in 2018 and married in October 2019. Pearce filed for divorce in June 2020, citing irreconcilable differences, and the divorce was finalized that September. She has since been in a relationship with entrepreneur Jordan Karcher, co-founder of Grounds & Hounds Coffee Co., with whom she went Instagram official in July 2025.

The fan reactions in the comments section of her TikTok video were largely supportive, with users expressing encouragement for her candor and validating her personal choices.
