Mexican singer-songwriter Carín León announced Monday that he will headline a three-night residency at the Las Vegas Sphere in September 2026, becoming the first Latinx artist to top the bill at the visually immersive venue.
León’s short run, titled “Primera Citas,” is scheduled for Sept. 11–13, 2026. The dates fall in the week of Las Vegas’ Mexican Independence Day programming, and the official on-sale for Sphere tickets is Friday, Sept. 26, according to the announcement. León announced the engagement via Instagram and at an event at Wynn Las Vegas.
“From Hermosillo to the world,” León wrote on Instagram. Speaking at Wynn Las Vegas, he said: “With music, we always try to make as much of an impression as possible. What I want is for everyone to get into my brain. I want you to see what I think, go on a tour through Hermosillo, a tour of all of the musical contrasts I’ve had, of the smells and many climates, and through everything that reminds me of my Hermosillo — what it is to navigate a bit of who is Óscar, who is Carín.”
León, a 36-year-old Grammy winner, has been prolific over the last year, releasing more than 20 singles, reissuing a live album titled Palabra De To’s and performing an NPR Tiny Desk Concert. He has headlined arenas worldwide on his Boca Chueca Tour and appeared at multiple festivals; while on the road he has often delivered marathon sets, including an expansive 45-song performance in Mexico City in December 2024, according to Setlist.fm.
Critics have noted León’s wide-ranging sound. In a review of a September 2024 show in Phoenix, The Arizona Republic described his music as an “effortless mix of traditional Mexican music, from mariachi to norteño, with elements of gospel, country, rock and classic soul,” and praised his clarity of vision across genres.
León did not publish a formal Sphere set list, but his recent concerts have mixed his own catalog with covers and guest appearances. Songs he has performed on recent tours include “Que Vuelvas,” “Primera Cita” and a string of tributes and covers spanning José José, Joan Sebastian and Juan Gabriel alongside collaborations with artists such as Grupo Frontera, Maluma and Pepe Aguilar.
The Las Vegas Sphere has positioned itself as a multifaceted entertainment center since opening, presenting immersive films, multimedia installations and residencies by major acts. Upcoming and ongoing programming at the venue includes Darren Aronofsky’s immersive film Postcard From Earth, a retrospective titled V-U2, and multi-month engagements by the Eagles, Zac Brown Band and the Backstreet Boys. Sphere programming schedules are subject to change as more residencies and events are announced.
Tickets for León’s residency will be available through official Sphere and artist channels beginning on-sale day, and tickets are also available on secondary-market platforms such as Vivid Seats. Secondary platforms may list prices above or below face value depending on demand; Vivid Seats advertises a 100% buyer guarantee that promises secure transactions and delivery before events.
Promoters and tour listings indicate additional dates for León in 2025 and 2026, including a performance slated for Sept. 21 at the Fort Bend Epicenter in Rosenberg, Texas, alongside his three Sphere dates. A full calendar of tour dates, venues and ticket links is being circulated by promoters and ticketing services.
León’s Sphere engagement marks a high-profile moment in a career that has expanded rapidly beyond regional Mexican charts into international arenas. The residency also underscores the Sphere’s continued strategy of diversifying its lineup to include a wider array of popular global artists. Organizers and the artist did not immediately provide further production details about how León plans to use the Sphere’s signature immersive audio-visual technology for the shows.
Fans seeking tickets should consult official on-sale information and authorized sellers on or after Friday, Sept. 26, and confirm purchase protections and delivery timelines when using secondary marketplaces.
