Cardi B announced Wednesday that she is expecting her fourth child and her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.

The Grammy-winning rapper told Gayle King on CBS Mornings that she is due in February and said she feels “excited” and “happy,” adding that she feels “very strong” and “very powerful” while working and expecting. Cardi B said she waited to make the pregnancy public until she could “close some deals first” and joked that she had not yet told her parents because she was “scared of them.”

Cardi B, whose given name is Belcalis Almanzar, has three children with her estranged husband, rapper Offset: daughter Kulture, daughter Blossom and son Wave. Diggs has a daughter from a previous relationship. The couple publicly acknowledged their relationship this year after months of dating rumors; they made it Instagram-official in June following photographs of the two together earlier in the year.

The pair attracted attention before the public announcement. They were photographed together at an NBA playoff game in May and appeared on the celebrity row at Madison Square Garden. The relationship timeline has included a public Instagram removal in July that briefly fueled breakup speculation and a later social-media exchange in which Diggs commented “snifffs BBL 👅” on one of Cardi B’s posts and she replied, “that’s how i got you stuck.”

Cardi B’s relationship with Diggs followed an on-again, off-again marriage to Offset that began in 2017 and continued to generate public dispute after their split. In recent months, the pair’s divorce proceedings have included competing public statements about finances and parenting. Cardi B has accused Offset of failing to contribute to their children’s expenses for a period of time; Offset has filed for spousal support and has said in public comments that he has “moved on.”

On CBS Mornings, Cardi B urged fans to support her music, quipping that album sales would help her buy diapers and other necessities for the growing family. She described her current personal and professional state as a “good space” and said she and Diggs are supportive of one another as they prepare for the new arrival.

The announcement adds a new chapter to both artists’ public lives: Cardi B will become a mother for the fourth time, while Diggs will expand his family with a second child. Neither Cardi B nor Diggs provided additional details about the pregnancy timeline beyond the February due date announced on the program.
