Cara Delevingne appears in a revealing new photoshoot for Playboy, featuring a plunging PVC corset and minimal other clothing. The images showcase her rock-chick style, with Delevingne protecting her modesty with her hands while posing with a cigarette and highlighting her tattoos.

Music Career Aspirations

In an accompanying interview, Delevingne discussed her recently launched music career, expressing a desire to release her music under a different name. "Originally, I wanted to release the music under a different name so no one would know it was me, because I just wanted it to go out there... But I didn’t want the preconceived ideas—how many people are going to say it’s bad without even listening to it?" she stated. She acknowledged that criticism is possible regardless of anonymity but emphasized her motivation was to allow the music to be judged on its own merit.

Personal Struggles and Recovery

The photoshoot and interview also touch upon Delevingne's past struggles with addiction. She revealed that she suffered a near-fatal overdose, requiring a dose of naloxone after ingesting what she believed to be opiates in cocaine. This incident occurred after photos emerged of her appearing disheveled at Van Nuys airport, which she attributed to a seizure shortly after leaving the Burning Man Festival. "Yeah, it's not a good look. As a model, you're meant to upkeep the brand's standards in some way. Like, it's in contracts that you sign," she said regarding the impact on her career, noting that work became scarce and industry contacts went "very silent."

Delevingne detailed her process of medically weaning off gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), describing it as a difficult but necessary step toward sobriety. She explained the challenges of staying sober at home, as increased sobriety led to a greater awareness of past mistakes, which she found overwhelming. The overdose and subsequent hospitalization marked a significant turning point for her. "So I was narcanned [given a dose of naloxone, which reverses the impacts of opioid overdose], was in hospital, and that's really when everything happened because when I woke up," she recounted.
