California has emerged as the dominant state in Yelp's latest ranking of the 50 most-saved ice cream shops across America. The data, analyzed from user bookmarks and ratings on the platform, shows the Golden State securing four out of the top five positions, indicating a strong preference among users for its frozen dessert establishments.

Topping the list is Mitchell's Ice Cream in San Francisco's Mission District. Founded in 1953, the creamery is recognized for its hand-crafted "super-premium" ice cream made with 16% butterfat. The shop boasts over 3,400 five-star reviews and more than 1,000 four-star reviews on Yelp.

Following Mitchell's is New York City's Soft Swerve in the second spot. However, the ranking quickly returns to California, with two Los Angeles area shops securing third and fourth place. Mashti Malone's and Busman's Organic Milk Bar, both located in Los Angeles, were highlighted.

Mashti Malone's, which has multiple locations in the greater Los Angeles area, is noted for its unique Persian flavors such as Rosewater, French Lavender, and Persian Cucumber. The shop was founded by Mashti Sirvani, an Iranian immigrant. Busman's Organic Milk Bar emphasizes its 100% organic, non-GMO, and antibiotic-free ice cream sourced from a Korean producer, with popular items including True Milk Flavor and Cereal Cone & Croffle.

Rounding out the top five is Meadowlark Dairy in Pleasanton, a Northern California establishment that has been serving customers since 1919. The dairy offers classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, alongside options such as banana, cookies and cream, coconut, and pineapple.
