Burning Man is introducing a promotion that bundles discounted festival tickets with bus travel, offering a more affordable entry for attendees. Those purchasing a Burner Express Bus ticket from Reno, Nevada, or San Francisco can secure a festival admission ticket for $550.

This limited-time offer encourages participants to reduce their carbon footprint by choosing public transit over individual cars. A spokesperson for the event stated that the Burner Express Bus program aims to make getting to Black Rock City easier and more affordable while lessening the environmental impact of travel by reducing traffic and the number of vehicles on the road.

Standard festival admission tickets can cost close to $1,000. Last year, Burning Man implemented a tiered pricing system, with wealthier attendees paying more to subsidize lower ticket prices. This sliding scale is continuing this year, allowing individuals to purchase tickets ranging from $550 to $3,000. The "Give the Gift" option allows for higher contributions, while the "Pay Your Way" option offers tickets at $775. Organizers note that purchasing higher-priced tickets helps fund art grants and operational costs.

Low-income individuals can apply for an aid program that may offer entry for $250. The Burner Express Bus ticket bundles are set to go on sale August 19 at 6 p.m. and will be available until the limited supply for two additional buses is exhausted.

The annual event, held in the Black Rock Desert, runs from August 30 to September 7. This year's theme is "Axis Mundi," focusing on interconnectedness and our ties to the natural world. The festival culminates with the burning of a large effigy of a man, after which the temporary city is dismantled.
