Francisco 'Frankie' Lombardo, the ex-husband of media personality Bunnie XO, has spoken out about their past relationship, claiming she "destroyed" his life and detailing her involvement with "sugar daddies." In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Lombardo, 43, described his four-year marriage to Bunnie, whose real name is Kayla Denker, as adventurous butting heads with her "lifestyle."
Lombardo stated that Bunnie informed him early in their relationship about her "sugar daddies," individuals who provided her with financial support. "I was super jealous," Lombardo recounted, expressing a desire to have her "all to myself." He indicated that this led to arguments within their relationship. Bunnie XO has previously acknowledged receiving substantial sums of money and gifts, including cars and jewelry, from sugar daddies. She also stated on her podcast, "Dumb Blonde," that she continued to see clients to fund their life even after beginning her relationship with country artist Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO, who married in 2016, recently announced their divorce after nearly ten years of marriage. Despite the separation, Jelly Roll stated at a concert that they remain "best friends" and will "always be best friends." Bunnie XO echoed this sentiment on her podcast, saying their marriage is ending "on the best possible terms."
Lombardo met Bunnie online in 2009 when she was married to Christopher Gilbert and working as a dancer in Las Vegas. Lombardo, a music producer, initially confided in Bunnie about issues with his then-girlfriend. Bunnie, who was married to Gilbert from July 2008 to September 2009, allegedly invited Lombardo to meet for a drink, where Gilbert was also present. Lombardo claims Bunnie expressed a desire to kiss him, and about a week later, he moved in with her. He clarified that while Bunnie and Gilbert were separated when he moved in, he was the one who later served Gilbert with divorce papers.
Bunnie and Lombardo married in Maui, Hawaii, on Valentine's Day in 2010, reportedly after coming into "a little money." Lombardo described their marriage as "very adventurous," likening themselves to Bonnie and Clyde, and stated that Bunnie was a "good wife." However, he claimed that her "lifestyle" and the involvement of sugar daddies eventually became insurmountable.
The breakdown of their marriage was exacerbated when Lombardo's parents and siblings moved into their home less than a year before their split. In 2007, Lombardo's parents were indicted on federal charges including RICO conspiracy, bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the Wire Wager Act and received a one-year probation sentence in 2010. Lombardo described this period as the "lowest point" of his life, believing it significantly impacted his relationship with Bunnie. The couple, who had launched a clothing company called Cupcakes and Chronic in 2012, filed a joint petition for divorce in February 2014.
Lombardo also revealed that he and Bunnie were trying to start a family and had undergone fertility treatments. He expressed a strong desire for a child with her, noting her past struggles with ectopic pregnancies. Bunnie XO has also spoken about fertility challenges with Jelly Roll, describing their IVF journeys as difficult and mentioning Jelly Roll's low sperm count as a factor.
Lombardo maintained that he remained friends with Bunnie after their divorce but found it difficult to watch her move on with another man he described as abusive. He clarified this man was not Jelly Roll. Bunnie detailed this relationship in her memoir, "Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic," referring to the man as 'Karma.' Lombardo stated he chose not to read the chapter about 'Karma' as it was after their relationship, recalling an instance where Bunnie arrived at his home severely injured.
Lombardo himself faced legal issues, being charged with domestic battery by strangulation in December 2023. A police report detailed alleged statements made by Lombardo while en route to jail. The case was dismissed in 2024, the same year he and Bunnie broke up. Lombardo has denied the allegations, stating he would never physically harm a woman.
Both Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO have public histories. Jelly Roll is a convicted felon with past offenses including robbery and drug charges. Bunnie XO has openly discussed her past drug addiction and multiple arrests, sharing mugshots from her late teens and early twenties. Insiders have suggested that Jelly Roll's recent embrace of Christianity and his public persona may contrast with Bunnie's candid discussions on her podcast and social media presence, potentially contributing to their divorce.
