Bunnie Xo has reported an influx of direct messages from men, including “a few rappers,” since her separation from country artist Jelly Roll. She revealed on the Friday episode of her podcast, "Dumb Blonde," that she has been receiving messages from individuals with verified social media accounts, with some sending her poems.
"I have the blue check marks coming in," Bunnie Xo stated on the podcast. The 46-year-old, whose legal name is Alisa Andrea Carte, mentioned that she has only responded to two messages, as she is not yet ready to re-enter the dating scene.
"I feel like I have so much to work on with myself that I have nothing to offer anybody," she explained. One message Bunnie Xo read aloud on the podcast referenced her ex-husband multiple times and offered a comparison.
"Hey girl, if you ever wanted to be with a man who doesn’t have any tattoos, especially none on his face, I’m here for you. If you wanna go back to someone who’s a little more hefty than him, I’m your boy," the message read. Bunnie Xo cautioned those messaging her to avoid discussing Jelly Roll, who has been open about his weight loss journey and past struggles with addiction.
"Please don’t talk about my ex," she said. "I’m trying to get away from him. Please. I don’t wanna hear it."
Another message described Bunnie Xo’s body as “absurd” and stated she “oozes sexy.” Bunnie Xo joked to her co-hosts that this sender “might be a response.” A third individual mentioned he is scheduled to be released from prison next year after serving a 10-year sentence and expressed a desire to spend time with her.
Bunnie Xo jokingly compared her marriage to Jelly Roll, which lasted nearly ten years, to serving a prison sentence. The couple officially divorced on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, with Jelly Roll citing “irreconcilable differences.” Bunnie Xo, who has not yet filed her own divorce papers, has indicated that the former couple still plans to have a child together via IVF.
Bunnie Xo stated her intention is not to become a spokesperson for divorced women but to inspire others. "I just want to show women that you can do the damn damn thing and you can literally get your spark back slowly but surely," she said. "You’re going to feel beautiful again."
She also shared that she has significant career plans in the works, which she intends to reveal at a later date. Bunnie Xo was married to Jelly Roll from August 2016. She has served as a stepmother to his two children from previous relationships.
