Nottinghamshire brothers Oliver, 13, and Edward, 11, are set to compete in the Pokémon World Championships in California this month. Their journey to the world stage follows Oliver's first-place win in the Junior Trading Card Game division at the Pokémon Europe International Championships held in London in February 2025, where he secured a prize of $7,000.

The championships encompass various video game competitions, but the brothers have focused their efforts on the strategy-based Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). They began playing the TCG in 2023 and have since become active participants in competitive Pokémon events.

Their mother, Kayleigh, has learned to play the TCG to help her sons practice. She plays with various decks to allow them to test different match-ups, especially when friends are unavailable.

The prize money for the upcoming World Championships first-place winner is $50,000. Oliver stated that if he were to win, he would likely save the money.
