Rapper Brooke Candy has released her first musical offering since her high-profile divorce, debuting the track "VIP" and its accompanying music video. The video, released on YouTube on Friday, has been characterized as surreal and visually striking, drawing comparisons to the work of filmmaker David Lynch.

"VIP" is described as a club rap track featuring Candy's signature raunchy style. The video's visuals include several recurring motifs and jarring images. In one scene, Candy is depicted as a cat, wearing elaborate lingerie and towering shoes. Another sequence features her singing with her face pressed into the stomach of a naked man.

Candy, who has previously toured with artists like Charli XCX and Lizzo and collaborated with Grimes and Sia, stated that "VIP" marks the beginning of a new creative phase for her. She explained that the music reflects a period of rebuilding her life and rediscovering her identity following her divorce.

"This music is about choosing myself, reclaiming my power and stepping into the boldest, freest version of Brooke Candy yet," Candy told Page Six. She and tattoo artist Kyle England, married in Las Vegas in 2019, reportedly split last winter. Previously, Candy had shared with People magazine her intention to prioritize her emotional and spiritual well-being in the next chapter of her life, with confidence and happiness as her main goals.

The new track is expected to be part of an as-yet-unnamed album, which does not yet have a set release date.
