Brittany Snow, 39, is back in a major streaming release and on the red carpet, marking a new chapter in a career that began two decades ago.
Snow co-stars with Malin Åkerman in Netflix’s thriller The Hunting Wives and was seen over the weekend at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The role is the latest high-profile project for the actor best known to mainstream audiences for the Pitch Perfect film series.
Snow first gained attention in the mid-2000s with roles in family and teen films, including The Pacifier and John Tucker Must Die, and earlier work on the soap opera Guiding Light, for which she won a Young Artist Award and received additional nominations. She has appeared on television in series such as American Dreams, Nip/Tuck, Harry's Law, Full Circle, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Almost Family, and rose to wider fame with the ensemble comedies Pitch Perfect and its sequels.
In interviews surrounding her current projects, Snow said she still wrestles with questions about career status and success. Speaking to People, she said, "I don't think I've made it. It's always a struggle. I'm always wondering what my next job is going to be or if [I'm going to] 'make it,' in a way. I think that's the same for every actor — unless you're Tom Cruise or something."
Snow described how her view of success has changed since she began acting as a child. She recalled once idolizing stars such as Julia Roberts and said that, with age, she has come to value continued work and enjoyment of the craft. "Success, to me, is the fact that I'm still doing this, and I love it even more now," she said.
The actor also spoke about the influence of other performers. She called her experience working with Claire Danes on the project The Beast in Me a particularly meaningful "fan-girl encounter," saying she grew up watching Danes and admired both her acting and her efforts to keep her private life out of the spotlight.
Snow has been candid about her personal life in media appearances. After splitting from Tyler Stanaland in 2022 following two years of marriage, she joined the dating app Raya. On the podcast In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele, she recounted an awkward encounter with a well-known DJ who fell asleep while they were making out; she declined to name the person but said it was not Diplo. Snow described the experience as surprising and said she took it personally at the time.
As Snow promotes The Hunting Wives, the project places her once again in mainstream conversation, combining her film and television experience with a streaming-era release. The Netflix title features an intimate scene between Snow and Åkerman that has drawn attention in promotional coverage. Snow’s career now spans roughly 20 years, and she continues to move between film and television roles while speaking openly about the uncertainties and satisfactions of acting.
Snow’s appearance at this year’s VMAs served as a reminder of her visibility in pop culture as she supports the new film. She said in interviews that she remains motivated by the work itself and by opportunities to collaborate with performers she admires.
