Boots has launched its Christmas advertising campaign, taking a playful approach that focuses on the enduring appeal of well-chosen gifts, rather than a traditional sentimental narrative.

The 60-second advert, titled "For Gifts They'll Really Love," depicts four women who become increasingly possessive of their Christmas presents throughout the year. The campaign aims to highlight how the best gifts evolve from a Boxing Day novelty into everyday essentials.

The film opens on Christmas morning, showcasing the excitement of unwrapping popular beauty and wellness items. As the year progresses, however, these gifts become objects of intense affection. One mother is shown continuing to wear her LED Light Therapy Mask in various everyday situations, from taking out the bins to posing for family photos. Another woman is so devoted to her hair styler that she uses it during a romantic dinner and becomes protective when another person tries to use it.

Directed by Phoebe Arstein, the advert features a modern rendition of the carol "Shepherd of the Bells." It showcases a selection of high-profile gifts, including the Shark Cryoglow LED Face Mask, Dyson Airwrap, Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia fragrance, No7 Future Renew Collection, YSL Rouge Pur Couture, and an Oral B io9 Electric Toothbrush.

The campaign, filmed in the UK, premiered on Boots' digital media channels on November 4. Charlotte Lock, Chief Marketing Officer at Boots, stated that the company aims to redefine expectations for Christmas gifting by offering a wide array of desirable brands and options for all budgets. "The best gifting is about really knowing someone," Lock said. "When we get it right, the excitement lasts far beyond Christmas morning – it becomes the gift they use constantly, talk about and wonder how they ever lived without."
