Bonnie Tyler delivered a final performance of her iconic song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in London on March 19, weeks before her death.

The Grammy nominee, born Gaynor Sullivan, sang the 1980s power ballad at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, appearing happy and healthy. She held the microphone out to the audience for participation during the performance, wearing a sparkly top and black blazer.

Following the London show, Tyler was expected to perform in Cardiff two days later, but that concert was postponed. At the end of April, she was hospitalized in Faro, Portugal, due to a serious tear in her bowel.

Tyler underwent emergency intestinal surgery and was subsequently placed in a medically induced coma due to complications. Doctors attempted to bring her out of the coma, during which she experienced cardiac arrest, but she was awakened in June. Her team at the time clarified that she remained "seriously ill" with a "slow... recovery process."

News of Tyler's death at age 75 was announced on Thursday. A spokesperson for the singer stated, "Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for."

Prior to her health crisis, Tyler had expressed optimism about her ability to perform, telling Hello! magazine, "I’m really enjoying doing the shows. I’m still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything."
