Anna Boden, the eldest daughter of Boden founder Johnnie Boden, experienced a dramatic wedding day incident when the couple's elaborate three-tiered cake was dropped by caterers during its presentation. The mishap occurred as the cake was being brought to the bride and groom, Ollie Hext, both 31, on a set of rustic stone steps.

Images shared on the British clothing brand's official Instagram page captured the moment the cake began to fall. A subsequent photo revealed the cake had landed on the grass, broken into pieces. The family's terrier was seen enjoying the icing, and an empty champagne bottle lay nearby.

Johnnie Boden, 65, shared photos from the wedding, describing the event as a "wonderful celebration" with "lots of joyful tears." He noted the cake incident but stated it did not appear to have ruined the marriage for Anna, a science teacher, and Hext, a wealth manager.

The bride wore a satin gown with sheer puffed sleeves, a tiara, and a veil. Her father, Johnnie Boden, opted for a colorful pink-and-red candy cane striped suit paired with Adidas trainers, an ensemble also worn by the caterers.

Boden founded his eponymous mail-order company in 1991 after leaving a career as a stockbroker. The brand has since become a global retailer, popular among middle-class consumers and celebrities alike, including Michelle Obama, Samantha Cameron, and Kate Middleton.
