Glasgow will host a major exhibition dedicated to Sir Billy Connolly in 2027, with the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum set to showcase "Billy Connolly's Big Wee Exhibition." The exhibition is being developed by Glasgow Life.

"We're very excited to be working on this fabulous exhibition for the city," a spokesperson for Glasgow Life stated. "What could be better than celebrating a Scottish national treasure, Sir Billy Connolly, in Glasgow's very own treasure trove, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum? We look forward to sharing more details soon about the opening date and what you'll get to see in the exhibition."

Jane Rowlands, associated with the museum, noted in March that Connolly was a natural choice to present a personal guide to the art gallery. The approach focused on his memories and personal connection to the venue rather than factual details about the collections. Rowlands described his engagement with the art as coming across "with such personality and he speaks about the place with such fondness that you can't help but be engaged by it."

Connolly, widely regarded as one of the greatest comedians, was knighted in 2017 for his contributions to entertainment and charity. The exhibition aims to celebrate his multifaceted career and connection to Glasgow.
