Billie Shepherd is returning to The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) franchise as the new host of its spin-off podcast, "You Alright Hun?". Shepherd, who recently scaled back her television commitments to prioritize family life, will take over from Denise Van Outen.
The reality star confirmed her new role, expressing excitement about hosting the podcast. "I'm so excited to say I'm the brand new host of the Towie podcast You Alright Hun?" Shepherd stated. "I'm taking over the reins from the amazing Denise in the next few weeks and I can't wait."
Sources indicated that bosses sought a new direction for the podcast, and Shepherd was chosen for her extensive podcasting experience and personal connections with the TOWIE cast, allowing for an objective perspective. "Billie is perfect as she has loads of experience hosting podcasts herself and knows a lot of the Towie cast personally. She hasn't been on the show for a while though, so is able to stay objective," a source told The Sun.
Cast member Harry Derbridge welcomed Shepherd's appointment, saying, "It is going to be so good to have Billie with us. She loves TOWIE still and I think she will be a great host. She still watches it."
Saffron Lempriere noted that the podcast has previously stirred drama among cast members. "The podcast has ruffled feathers in the cast actually. It has not gone down well with some of us. I did it with Bobby (Norris) and I want him back," she commented.
Shepherd first gained fame on TOWIE in 2011 and has since starred in several reality series, including "Sam & Billie: The Mummy Diaries" and "The Family Diaries" with her husband Greg. In 2025, she and her sister Sam appeared in "Sam & Billie: Sister Act," which documented their entrepreneurial endeavors before the show was dropped by its network after one season. Shepherd has reportedly found alternative income streams after stepping away from reality television.
The "You Alright Hun?" podcast is expected to return later this year with Shepherd at the helm.
