Black Sabbath co-founder and drummer Bill Ward has clarified his recent use of a wheelchair, stating that he is neither ill nor retiring from music. The 78-year-old musician, who has been using the mobility aid for approximately 18 months, explained that it is primarily for use during travel or at public events.

"I can still walk, let there be no doubt, but I can't walk very far without needing to rest, meaning I need to sit down," Ward said in a social media post. He shared a photograph of himself seated in a wheelchair, smiling.

Ward, who hails from Birmingham, England, was a founding member of the iconic heavy metal band Black Sabbath in the 1960s, alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler. Despite his current mobility challenges, Ward expressed his commitment to his musical passion, resolving to "keep rocking until I'm dead."
