Bill Oddie, the celebrated British wildlife presenter, conservationist, and comedian, has died at the age of 85. His passing was announced on July 27, 2026, by his agent.

Oddie first rose to prominence as a member of the popular comedy group The Goodies, alongside Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden. He later transitioned to a passionate career in wildlife television, becoming a household name for his work on shows such as Springwatch, Autumnwatch, Birding with Bill Oddie, and Bill Oddie Goes Wild.

His agent, David Foster, paid tribute to Oddie's "intelligence and wit," describing him as a "multi-talented celebrity" whose true value was not in fame but in his dedication to the environment. Foster noted that Oddie championed conservation, educating and inspiring people of all ages to protect the natural world.

"He led the way and people of all ages and backgrounds responded to his call. And such a massive contribution to conservation will never be forgotten," Foster stated. "As Bill's agent I witnessed close hand his intelligence and wit. He was my friend and it was an honour and a privilege to represent him for so many years. I will miss him terribly."
