Beyoncé drew attention Saturday night at the REFORM Alliance Casino Night Gala in Atlantic City, arriving in a plunging bronze-gold gown, a feathered brown coat and a dazzling diamond necklace as the black-tie fundraiser raised more than $20 million for criminal justice reform.

The singer shared photographs of her look on Instagram after attending the event at Ocean Casino Resort with her husband, Shawn "Jay‑Z" Carter, who arrived in a tuxedo. Guests at the gala included actress Cameron Diaz and musician Benji Madden. REFORM Alliance, a criminal justice reform initiative, was co-founded by Jay‑Z.

Photographs posted to Beyoncé’s Instagram showed the performer posing before the event; earlier reports and social posts said she and Jay‑Z traveled to Atlantic City by helicopter. The gala marked one of several public appearances for the singer in recent weeks.

Beyoncé turned 44 on Sept. 4 and posted a series of photographs to thank fans. In that post she wrote, "Thank you so much for my birthday love. I'm thankful to God for another year. Peace and Love." The images included a sheer dark-red gown and matching lace gloves.

The singer has continued to accrue career honors: she holds 35 Grammy Awards and last month received her first Emmy for the Netflix special "Beyoncé Bowl," which the streamer said drew about 27 million U.S. viewers. The Emmy win moved her closer to EGOT status. Beyoncé also concluded the Cowboy Carter Tour in July, a series of concerts that began in April in support of her eighth studio album of the same name.

Reports this month have said the couple are considering a residence in the Cotswolds in England; the reports were not confirmed by representatives for the performers.

Organizers and attendees said the Casino Night Gala was a high-profile fundraising evening for REFORM Alliance, which focuses on changing criminal justice policies. The reported total raised—more than $20 million—will support the nonprofit’s stated mission of reducing mass incarceration and improving fairness in the justice system.
