Benson Boone and Maggie Thurmon have ended their relationship, a source told TMZ, with the two unfollowing one another on Instagram after nearly two years together.
The split was confirmed to the outlet earlier this week, though the source said it was unclear what led to the breakup. Neither Boone, 23, nor Thurmon, 23, has issued a public comment, and representatives for the singer had not responded to requests for comment at the time of reporting.
The timing coincides with Boone’s first global headlining run. His American Heart World Tour began in August and is scheduled to encompass about 50 shows through November. Thurmon was in the audience at Boone’s Sept. 7 stop in Raleigh, North Carolina, according to reports, and two nights later in Nashville the singer told fans waiting outside Bridgestone Arena that he’d had “a rough day” but was “very happy to be on stage,” according to a TikTok clip from the evening.
Boone and Thurmon first appeared together publicly in March 2024 at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party. Thurmon made the relationship official on Instagram in June 2024 with a video of the couple holding hands, and the pair became regular red-carpet companions that fall. They attended the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards together and were photographed at New York Fashion Week later that week.
Throughout 2025 Thurmon continued to be seen supporting Boone at career milestones, including his Grammy performance in February and his Saturday Night Live debut in May. Boone rose to wider prominence after the chart-topping single “Beautiful Things” and followed with singles “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” and “Mystical Magical.” He played a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden earlier this month, calling the night one of the most memorable of his life and noting it as a long-term goal with his manager.
The split marks a private development in the singer’s personal life amid a critical phase of his career. Boone’s tour has drawn attention as he consolidates a rapid rise in mainstream pop, moving from breakout singles to arena-level performances in less than two years.
Public details about the separation remain limited. The Daily Mail and TMZ reported the split; Entertainment Tonight previously quoted Boone praising Thurmon’s personality and family during a November interview. The couple’s social-media accounts reflect the reported change in status, and further comment from either party has not been made public.
Boone’s American Heart World Tour continues through November with stops across North America and additional international dates. As of reporting, updates from either Boone’s or Thurmon’s teams have not been issued regarding the split.
