Crissy Rock has announced she and husband Julian Buck have split, saying the couple were estranged from June 2024 and officially separated in January 2025.

The 66-year-old actress and comedian, best known for playing hotel manageress Janey York on ITV's Benidorm, posted the confirmation on Instagram on Monday. In the statement she asked friends, family and followers to "disregard any posts or information shared from the page 'Julian Buck' - this page is not affiliated with me and does not represent me in any way," and thanked people for respecting her privacy.

Rock said in her post that she has had no contact with Buck since June 2024. The couple met while Rock was appearing on the Benidorm set and were married in a movie-themed ceremony at a Stockport cinema in 2018. Rock has described Buck as about a decade younger than her; news reports say their marriage lasted six years.

In interviews published over the past two years Rock has spoken candidly about her personal circumstances. She told The Mirror in 2023 about meeting Buck at the Riviera Hotel in Benidorm and described their relationship as evolving from friendship. Earlier this year she told The Express she was living a "nomad" life and that, were it not for friends and family, she could be "living in a hostel or a cardboard box." Rock said she moves between places and keeps much of her wardrobe in the boot of her car.

Rock rose to wider recognition for her role in the 1994 film Ladybird, Ladybird and later earned mainstream visibility with her recurring role on Benidorm. She appeared as Janey in the sitcom's first four seasons and returned sporadically through the seventh season. The series ran for 11 years before ending in May 2018. Rock has also appeared on reality and celebrity cooking shows, including I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Come Dine With Me and Celebrity MasterChef.

The Benidorm programme has been the subject of recent reboot speculation. The Sun reported earlier this year that ITV was in early talks about bringing the show back and that producers had started reaching out to former cast members. None of those reports amounts to an official commission, and Rock has previously said she would welcome a return if it were to happen.

Rock's Instagram statement did not give further details about the reasons for the separation. Representatives for Rock and for Buck did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Rock's split marks a personal setback that follows a period in which she publicly discussed both financial insecurity and an itinerant lifestyle. Her career spans award-winning film work and long-running television roles, and she maintains a profile in British entertainment through stage, screen and reality appearances.
