Ben Robson has joined the cast of Netflix's Western drama "Ransom Canyon" as a new character named Oliver. His arrival in Season 2 introduces a new romantic dynamic and potential conflict.
Oliver is first introduced at the end of the Season 2 premiere. Quinn O’Grady, played by Minka Kelly, returns to her Texas town after a six-month stay in New York. During a welcome home party, a note delivered by her dog leads her to the town gazebo, where she encounters Oliver. Their interaction reveals a shared history, hinted at through a game of Wordle, culminating in a kiss as Quinn's former flame, Staten Kirkland, witnesses the moment.
In the second episode, it is revealed that Quinn and Oliver have been dating for the past six months, with Oliver working for the New York Philharmonic. While Quinn has not yet accepted or denied his proposal to return to New York, their relationship forms a central part of the season's narrative. Quinn defends Oliver's actions, telling Staten that Oliver's pursuit is precisely what Staten should have done.
Robson, a 42-year-old English actor, is known for his roles in projects such as "Vikings," "The Continental," and "Animal Kingdom," where he played Craig Cody for six seasons. He has also worked as a model. "Ransom Canyon" is currently airing its second season on Netflix.
