Genevieve “Gen” Lillie, a stew on ‘Below Deck Mediterranean,’ has shared her perspective on deckhand Luke Brumer’s exit from the M/Y Akira One, stating that Brumer resigned after receiving a reprimand from Captain Sandy Yawn.

Lillie described Brumer as “pouting” following the reprimand, suggesting he anticipated being let go by Captain Yawn and Bosun Nathan Gallagher. "I think he knew Captain Sandy and Nathan wanted to let him go," Lillie told Decider. "He wanted to beat them to the punch."

Brumer's departure followed an incident where he allegedly had an encounter with Lillie. Afterward, Lillie told Deckhand Cooper Dawson that Brumer had finished on Gallagher’s sheets and allowed his boss to sleep on them for three consecutive nights. Lillie characterized the conversation with Dawson as confiding in a close colleague, comparing it to "gossiping with your gals."

Upon learning of the incident, Gallagher reportedly informed Captain Yawn, who was reportedly horrified. Lillie noted that Brumer's actions created a chain reaction, though she didn't fully grasp its extent until watching the season back.

Lillie also commented on her relationships with other crew members, including Chief Stew Aesha Scott. She stated that Scott “never gave me the time of day,” and that she felt pitted against fellow stew Kayley Smith. Lillie found support in stew Kat Johnston, describing their relationship as essential during the challenging charter season.

Regarding the dynamic with Chef Joy Lefaucheur, Lillie expressed that while they worked well together, Lefaucheur struggled to move past the situation involving Brumer. Lillie also touched upon her brief interaction with Joe Bradley, stating he was not her type.

Lillie's experience on the M/Y Akira One included a challenging bachelorette charter, which she described as her least favorite of the season, citing awkwardness and her dislike for having a dog on board a superyacht.

Looking ahead in the season, Lillie teased "more chaos" and "more drama" within the interior, as well as escalating tensions between Nathan and Joe on deck. She also hinted at the potential return of familiar faces and a possible drink-throwing incident.
