The award-winning children's television series "Bluey" has been translated into an Australian Indigenous language for the first time, with five episodes now available in Yolngu Matha. This initiative aims to support language preservation and amplify First Nations voices through storytelling.

Yolngu Matha is a collection of dialects spoken in north-east Arnhem Land, located in the Northern Territory of Australia. The BBC reported that the show's producers hope this project will encourage the use and understanding of one of the world's oldest living languages.

The translation effort is part of a broader push to connect younger generations with Indigenous Australian languages and cultures, utilizing the widespread appeal of "Bluey" as a vehicle for cultural transmission.
