Filming for the upcoming series of Beatles biopics continued this week, with actors portraying the Fab Four seen shooting scenes in London's St. John's Wood. Barry Keoghan, who plays Ringo Starr, was photographed flashing rude hand gestures while dressed in costume.
Keoghan was pictured in a Jaguar E-Type Series 1 and a Commer PB camper conversion, at one point raising his middle finger towards the camera. Paul Mescal, taking on the role of Paul McCartney, was also on set, keeping a lower profile.
The Sam Mendes-directed project will consist of four installments, each focusing on an individual member of the band, and are slated for simultaneous release next year.
Recreating Iconic Moments
Last month, the cast recreated the famous Abbey Road album cover photo shoot at the iconic zebra crossing. The original photograph was taken by Iain Macmillan, a friend of John Lennon, who had limited time to capture the image. Filming for this scene required the actors to repeatedly walk across the crossing.
Westminster Council initially reportedly did not permit filming at the location but later confirmed they were working with production teams. A replica of John Lennon's psychedelic Rolls-Royce Phantom V, known for its distinctive yellow paint and elaborate designs, was also present on set.
On-Set Incidents
The latest filming comes after reports of an on-set outburst by Keoghan. Sources told the Daily Mail that Keoghan became upset, removed his Ringo Starr earrings, and threw them into a bush, causing filming to be suspended for a day while crew searched for them. This incident reportedly occurred while filming at Stonewall Park in Kent.
Reports have linked Keoghan's alleged behavior to a period of retreat from public life, which he attributed to online hate directed at his appearance and rumors about his past relationship. Keoghan has denied the infidelity claims.
The biopic project has also faced scrutiny from fans who have commented on the perceived lack of resemblance between the actors and the original Beatles members.
