BBC Radio 1 DJ Yasmin Evans announced on Friday that she is pregnant with her first child. The 35-year-old presenter shared photos on Instagram showcasing her baby bump, taken by her husband in their garden.

In a heartfelt caption, Evans wrote, "The storm changed us forever, but so did the rainbow that followed." She also shared images to her Instagram stories, alluding to a difficult fertility journey and expressing gratitude for the support she has received. "My husband took these photos of us, in our garden at home. It's my deepest honour to have been chosen every time. A little rainbow, created from our season," she posted. "Sending love to those on this journey, no words are deep enough. And for all your words & love, thank you. Love MUVVA."

Her announcement was met with congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities, including Clara Amfo and David Potts. Evans married her husband, whose identity she has kept private, last year.

Evans is a well-known voice on BBC Radio 1 and 1Extra, and has also presented television shows such as CBBC's Saturday Mash-Up and The BRITs livestream. In 2020, she participated in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, where she suffered from trench foot and required hospitalization. Describing the experience, she told The Sun that she was unable to walk for four days due to infections in her feet, stating, "Your socks are constantly wet. It’s a World War injury."
