BBC DJ Trevor Nelson has revealed that he underwent surgery for a brain tumor, describing the procedure as "very serious" and stating that it "went incredibly well."

Nelson, 62, had previously announced he was taking a "little break from my work commitments" due to unspecified "health issues." In a recent address to his Instagram followers, he disclosed the reason behind his absence, explaining that the discovery of a brain tumor had been a shock.

"My world was turned upside down," Nelson stated, adding that the news was a significant blow to himself, his close family, and friends. He acknowledged the public's curiosity regarding his health.

"There's been a lot of speculation as to what's wrong with me, I know that much. My phone's blown up 20 times over with people asking what's wrong with me," he said.

Nelson indicated that he would share more details about his experience at a later date but wanted to inform his followers of the situation. He described the discovery of the tumor as unexpected, stating, "I was minding my own business and then it was discovered I had a brain tumour."
