The British Museum in London has opened its doors to the public for a highly anticipated exhibition of the Bayeux Tapestry. Crowds were observed flocking to the museum on Thursday as the exhibition commenced.

The Bayeux Tapestry, an embroidery measuring nearly 70 meters (230 feet) in length, dates back approximately 1,000 years. It chronicles the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England and culminates with the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

This marks the first time the tapestry has been on public display in the United Kingdom since its creation. Ticket prices for adult visitors range from £27 during off-peak times to £33 during peak periods, with an additional £3.50 donation requested.
