Glasgow has once again transformed into Gotham City as filming commences for "The Batman: Part II." The production brought a wintery scene to the city's Waterloo Street, complete with a Batmobile performing donuts in artificial snow and police vehicles, including a large SWAT car.

The filming, which took place on a notably wet August day, saw the streets lined with snow-covered vehicles and hot dog carts, with traffic restrictions in place for both vehicles and pedestrians. Despite the elaborate set dressing, the main cast, including Robert Pattinson as Batman, were not visible on set.

Production encountered a minor hiccup earlier when a prop SWAT car used for an action sequence broke down. Technicians were seen attending to the vehicle's engine, but it was repaired by late afternoon, allowing filming to proceed as scheduled.

Directed by Matt Reeves, "The Batman: Part II" is the follow-up to his 2022 film "The Batman." The upcoming movie is set in the winter following a flood in Gotham City, with the protagonist battling corruption. Filming is also scheduled to take place in London and Liverpool.

The film's release has been impacted by several delays, including the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Originally slated for an October 2025 release, "The Batman: Part II" is now expected to debut in U.S. cinemas on February 18, 2028.

Glasgow has a history of standing in for Gotham City, having previously been featured in "The Dark Knight Rises" (2012), "The Batman" (2022), and "The Flash" (2023).
