Awkwafina is among the cast of "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland," the latest film in Disney's "Descendants" series, which premiered July 16 and is now streaming on Disney+.

The movie continues the story of the descendants of iconic Disney characters, following Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe Charming (Malia Baker) as they return from the past. Their efforts to prevent Red's mother, the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), from becoming evil inadvertently lead to the creation of a new villain, Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam). Maddox Hatter takes the Queen of Hearts hostage, prompting Red, Chloe, and their new allies to journey to Wonderland to rescue her and the kingdom.

Awkwafina voices Chessy Cheshire, the daughter of the Cheshire Cat. Chessy serves as Maddox Hatter's henchwoman and contributes to the film's chaotic elements, mirroring her parent's mischievous nature with a characteristic grin.

The "Descendants" franchise has a history of featuring well-known actors. "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" also introduces new characters, including Pink (Liamani Segura), Red's younger sister.

While there has been no official confirmation regarding a sixth "Descendants" movie, the ending of "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" reportedly includes a cliffhanger. When asked about the possibility of a return, Kylie Cantrall offered a non-committal response, suggesting that some plot elements remain a mystery.

"Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" is accessible on Disney+ through various subscription plans. Options include a plan with ads for $11.99 per month and an ad-free plan for $18.99 per month or $189.99 annually. Disney+ also offers bundle packages with Hulu, HBO Max, and ESPN+, providing discounts of over 40% for multiple services.
