A new animated feature film, "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender," is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ on July 25. The movie, created by "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, was directed by "ATLA" storyboard artist Lauren Montgomery.
The film follows an adult Aang and his companions, Team Avatar, as they encounter Tagah, an ancient airbender. Together, they embark on a global quest to find an airbending staff, aiming to restore the Air Nomads. Their search is urgent as they must retrieve the relic before another group can use it to disrupt the peace established after the Hundred Year War and the defeat of Fire Lord Ozai.
"Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" was reportedly leaked online in April 2026. This incident led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man in Singapore for allegedly accessing a media server without authorization. Following the leak, the movie's theatrical release plans were altered, and its streaming premiere was advanced.
The film's release follows an announcement from the "Avatar" creators on October 9 regarding "Avatar: Seven Havens," another new animated installment, which is slated to premiere on October 9.
The movie "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" will be available starting at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on July 25. It is a Paramount+ exclusive, requiring a subscription to watch.
Paramount+ offers two subscription tiers: Essential, an ad-supported plan at $8.99 per month, and Premium, an ad-free plan that includes Showtime titles and live CBS, priced at $13.99 per month. A seven-day free trial of the Premium plan is currently available.
