Austin Butler has closed on Brad Pitt's Los Feliz residence for $5.2 million, three months after it was burglarized, TMZ reported. The sale was finalized last Friday, according to the outlet.
Pitt, 61, was in Tokyo on June 25 when three intruders climbed the fence and entered the home through the front windows. A source told The US Sun that neighborhood security was at the house about an hour before the break-in, and the outlet noted that Pitt had increased security since the incident. The burglars reportedly ransacked the property for about 10 minutes before fleeing with an unknown haul.
Dubbed "The Steel House," Butler's new home is about 2,000 square feet, L-shaped, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Amenities include a swimming pool, a built-in sauna and floor-to-ceiling windows. Pitt had previously moved from a $33 million residence in the same area to a smaller mid-century house he bought from Aileen Getty in April 2023. The latest property sale comes amid reports that Pitt purchased a larger Hollywood Hills estate with enhanced security features; the New York Post noted his new eight- to nine-thousand-square-foot mansion offers security upgrades and privacy.
The Hollywood Hills purchase, measured at about 8,385 square feet, reportedly includes six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater, fire pit and pool. The Wall Street Journal has reported that the sprawling residence was previously owned by The Killers guitarist Dave Keuning and his wife Emilie.
In the Los Feliz neighborhood, Pitt's security posture has remained a topic of discussion in local coverage, with editors noting that security has long been a priority for the star. Butler's acquisition of Pitt's property marks a high-profile move in a market where several A-list actors have sought privacy and security while maintaining proximity to industry opportunities. The new ownership situates Butler in a property cluster that includes nearby estates and recent sales among other high-profile residents, reflecting ongoing demand for secure, upscale LA living spaces.
