Aubrey Plaza has quietly put her Los Angeles home on the market for $6.5 million, eight months after the death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena.

The Spanish-style Los Feliz property was listed last week and is described in the listing as a “private sanctuary” that has been “meticulously restored and tastefully updated.” The single-family mansion includes four bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a screening room, wine cellar, pool, an oversized steam room and a state-of-the-art sound system, according to the listing first reported by Realtor.com. Plaza paid about $4.7 million for the house in October 2022 through a trust managed by an accounting firm that shares office space with her production company, Evil Hag Productions.

The listing calls the house “more than a home… it’s a private sanctuary, brought back to life with care, style, and enduring character. A rare opportunity for those seeking space, seclusion, and authentic Spanish charm.” Page Six reported that the property was quietly placed on the market; representatives for Plaza did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Baena, 47, was found dead inside the home on Jan. 3. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled his death a suicide. Plaza, 41, had relocated to New York City after the couple separated in September 2024 and issued a joint statement with Baena’s family at the time of his death calling it an “unimaginable tragedy” and asking for privacy.

In August, Plaza spoke about her ongoing grief on her friend Amy Poehler’s podcast, Good Hang, saying she was able to function while still feeling the constant presence of loss. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning,” she said, describing her mourning as an ever-present “giant ocean of just awfulness” she sometimes wants to dive into and at other times tries to avoid.

The Los Feliz neighborhood home has been marketed as offering seclusion while retaining period details after renovations, emphasizing both private amenities and space for entertaining. The sale would represent roughly a $1.8 million increase from the 2022 purchase price.

The listing follows several months in which Plaza has been publicly discussing her grief and life changes since the couple’s separation and Baena’s death. The decision to sell comes as she continues to work in film and television; her representatives and the listing agent have not provided further comment beyond the public listing information.

Realtor.com first reported the listing details and Page Six published additional reporting on the circumstances surrounding Baena’s death and Plaza’s subsequent statements.
