Ariana Grande will not be appearing in the upcoming 13th season of FX's "American Horror Story" due to scheduling conflicts with her "Eternal Sunshine" tour, confirmed by Page Six. The pop star, 33, was announced as a cast member in October, but production schedule changes made it impossible for her to participate.

Sources told Deadline that Grande has not yet filmed any material for the forthcoming installment. Initially, she was expected to join a cast that includes returning "AHS" veterans such as Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Frances Conroy. Other returning actors reportedly include John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, and Matt Fraser.

Newcomers Alex Consani and Avantika were also slated to join the cast. The exact nature of Grande's role in the project remained undisclosed, a common practice for Ryan Murphy's productions. In November, Grande had hinted to Variety that her part might be small, stating, "I know a little tiny bit [about the role] but what I know I can’t say. I’ll probably have a very tiny thing to do in it, but I’ll be grateful to be a part of it because I love everyone involved."

This would have marked Grande's second collaboration with Murphy, following her role in the first season of his series "Scream Queens" in 2015. Her "Eternal Sunshine" tour has recently seen some date changes. Several shows, including those at New York's Barclays Center and Boston's TD Garden, were rescheduled in July due to production issues, with Grande apologizing to fans and citing the need for shows to be "delivered safely and as intended." The tour supports her seventh studio album, "Eternal Sunshine," released in 2024.
