Ariana Grande was joined on stage by her "Wicked" co-star Cynthia Erivo for a surprise duet performance during Grande's concert at The O2 Arena in London on Sunday. The two singers performed "For Good," an anthem from the musical they are both set to star in, and later recreated Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand's iconic medley of "Get Happy" and "Happy Days Are Here Again."
This marked the first public performance together for Grande and Erivo since they appeared on the NBC concert special "Wicked: One Wonderful Night" in November. The two actresses spent a significant amount of time together filming Jon M. Chu's upcoming two-part adaptation of the Broadway musical, which concluded principal photography in 2025.
During the London concert, Grande and Erivo surprised the sold-out crowd with their rendition of "For Good." The song holds particular significance, as both performers have tattoos of the song's title on their palms. Following their "Wicked" duet, they sat on the stage to perform the classic medley.
Grande, who recently released her eighth studio album "Petal," which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, announced that she will be taking a step back from public visibility after concluding her "Eternal Sunshine Tour" on September 1. Her team stated that she plans to take a "much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances."
Erivo is scheduled to perform with the Boston Pops Orchestra later this week and has upcoming roles in "Focker-in-Law," "Prima Facie," "Children of Blood and Bone," and "Karoshi."
