Ant Anstead, who has been in a relationship with actress Renee Zellweger for five years, has revealed that the couple does not have immediate plans to marry, despite his referring to her as "the missus." Anstead, 47, stated that while he still believes in marriage, their current happiness means they "don't need the pressure of a label."
The English television presenter met Zellweger in 2021 on the set of his show, Celebrity IOU: Joyride. Their relationship has largely remained private. Anstead described Zellweger as a "very real person" and "the most grounded, humble person," noting her practical skills, particularly with cars. He shared anecdotes of her actively participating in car restoration work, using tools like grinders and spanners, and even driving a manual transmission vehicle on their first day of filming.
Zellweger previously sparked engagement rumors in 2023 when she was seen with bandages on her ring finger, but neither she nor Anstead commented on the speculation, and no engagement was confirmed.
Anstead has been married twice before. His first marriage was to Louise Herbert, with whom he has two adult children, Amelie and Archie. They divorced in 2017. He then married HGTV personality Christina Haack in 2018, and they have a seven-year-old son, Hudson. Anstead and Haack finalized their divorce in 2021.
Zellweger's only previous marriage was a brief four-month union with country music star Kenny Chesney in 2005, which ended in an annulment. Chesney later reflected that his music career often took precedence over his personal relationships.
The couple resides in Laguna Beach, California, where Anstead says they often encounter other celebrities without being bothered by fans.
