The fate of Annette Bening's character, Beulah Jackson, in the "Yellowstone" spinoff "Dutton Ranch" has been revealed. Episode 8, titled "Whiskey Limits," confirms that Beulah survived a collapse that occurred at the end of the previous episode, having suffered a heart attack. She is subsequently transported by medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment.

The storyline follows Beulah's recovery and also sees her estranged flame, Everett McKinney, played by Ed Harris, making their relationship official. Earlier in the season, Beulah had intended to leave her ranch, The 10 Petal, to her adopted son, Joaquin. However, her other son, Rob-Will, portrayed by Jai Courtney, pressured her into naming him as the successor.

"Dutton Ranch" follows Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) as they relocate to Texas following the death of Beth's father, John Dutton. As neighbors to Beulah, Beth and Rip find themselves temporarily working for her after losing their own cattle herd to disease. Beth expresses dissatisfaction with Beulah's decision to place Rob-Will in charge, deeming him a "liability" and stating her agreement was to work with Beulah, not her son. Beulah asks Beth to take things "a day at a time" as she is not leaving immediately.

Paramount has renewed "Dutton Ranch" for a second season, citing it as the biggest debut in Paramount+ history. The show garnered nearly 13 million viewers in its first week of streaming and close to 3 million viewers during its broadcast on Paramount Network, marking it as the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023.

The production has experienced behind-the-scenes changes, with showrunner Chad Feehan being let go three weeks before the first season premiered. Cole Hauser commented on these changes, stating, "Things change. People move on," adding that adapting is part of the business. "Dutton Ranch" episode 8 is currently available on Paramount+ and airs on the Paramount Network on Fridays.
